Sport Specific Training

In sports, athletes often fall short of their goals because the athlete was not fully prepared mentally and physically for their season. Typically, athletes are given generalized exercise programs that are not tailored to each individual’s needs. Past injuries, positional differences, mentality, and body maturity are not considered when giving these programs.

At Freemotion, we start with a thorough assessment that includes: flexibility, strength, agility, endurance, balance, and sport-specific movements. This will give the CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) the chance to identify each athlete’s strengths and weaknesses. Through this assessment, a detailed exercise program is designed for gender, sport, age, level of play, and sport-specific movements. Freemotion also employs physical therapists who will aid in designing each program to correct any joint imbalances and/or previous injuries, which could inhibit your performance.

Each session is supervised 100 percent by Joshua. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and Certified Personal Trainer from the National Strength and Conditioning Association. CSCS’s are educated to train professional athletes as well as the weekend warrior. He also has a Master’s Degree in Sports Injury Science, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training. Joshua is also very active with Little League Baseball. He is a pitching and hitting coach that has helped developed pitchers and hitters for traveling teams, All-Star teams and scholastic teams.

Training sessions could involve bodyweight exercises, plyometrics, balance, agility, reaction time, speed, power, and endurance techniques. Combinations of exercises are utilized to achieve gains in the quickest time possible. Balance boards, sport cords, Olympic exercises, medicine and Swiss balls, etc. are used to strengthen your performance. High speed cameras are also used to watch and correct technique to avoid future injury.

Joshua is dedicated to helping you achieve your goals. No excuses, just plain hard work to get you where you want to be. If you are dedicated and committed to achieving your goals, we can and will find a way to get you there.
